Drainage & Erosion Support

Runoff redirected and slopes stabilized, before you lose more ground to it.

What drainage support actually is

Working with the water instead of against it.

We provide practical drainage and erosion support for properties dealing with water flow, washout, slope issues, runoff, access damage or unstable surfaces. That means field-based improvements using grading, rock placement, drainage paths and site stabilization.

Water problems are rarely identical, so we read yours before we price anything. If your situation doesn't look like the usual ones, that's normal, and it's the part of the job we're good at.

This isn't a replacement for engineered drainage design when engineering is required. Where a problem needs formal design or regulatory compliance, we'll say so and recommend an engineered review.

When water is the problem

  • Water runs toward the house, not away

Grade sending runoff at a structure, a slab, or a foundation every time it rains.

  • The drive or pad keeps washing out

Base material moving downhill with each storm, taking the surface with it.

  • A slope is scouring or slipping

Bare ground losing soil, cutting channels, or undermining what sits above it.

  • New construction changed the flow

A build, a pad, or a drive that redirected water somewhere it now causes damage.

Something else going on?

Water finds its own way to cause trouble, and yours might not be on this list. Tell us what you're seeing and we'll work it out. If the ground simply needs reshaping and water isn't the driver, that's a grading scope. If the drive is the only thing affected, start there.

How we handle drainage

Three steps, starting with where the water comes from.

  1. We find where the water starts

Where it's coming from, where it's going, and which areas are taking the damage. Then what's making it worse: grading, access, vegetation, rock, soil or surface conditions.

  2. We tell you the practical fix

Improvements matched to your property and your goals, not the biggest scope. If the issue involves structures, neighbours or code compliance, we say so upfront.

  3. We shape it and stabilize it

Grading, clearing, rock placement and stabilization where the plan calls for it, using the natural drainage patterns already on the property rather than fighting them.

Engineered drainage designs, formal plans, permitting, and third-party professional services are priced separately when they apply. We will tell you early if your situation needs one.

What drives the price

Severity first, then how much ground the fix has to cover.

A small diversion above a driveway and a slope that needs full armoring are different orders of magnitude. Most of the cost is equipment time and rock.

  • Severity of the issue

How far the damage has already gone.

  • Property size and slope

How much ground the water crosses, and how fast.

  • Material needs

How much rock the solution takes.

  • Whether engineering is required

    Structures, neighbours, or code compliance.

  • Rock and soil conditions

    What we are working into.

  • Estimates are free. Drainage is the one scope where waiting reliably costs more — the same fix gets more expensive every wet season.
