Start-to-finish transformations

Three clearing and site prep project examples, each with a different problem.

Lago Vista – 2.5 acres

Lago Vista, 2.5 acres

Challenge
Thick cedar over a shallow limestone shelf left the lot unusable.
Solution
Selective clearing around the mature oaks, stumps grubbed where the pad would sit, rock kept onsite for the approach.
Outcome
A compacted, build ready pad in four days, and eleven fewer haul off loads than quoted.

West Austin – sloped build site

West Austin, sloped build site

Challenge
A grade too steep to build on, with runoff cutting straight through where the foundation was drawn.
Solution
Cut and fill balanced onsite, a swale armored with rock pulled from the excavation, tree line left intact.
Outcome
Foundation poured on schedule, and the slope has held through two seasons of storms.

  • Concrete Prep
Spicewood – half mile drive

Spicewood, washed-out access road

Challenge
A half mile drive that rutted out every spring, leaving the property unreachable by anything but a truck.
Solution
Regraded with proper crown and drainage, base rebuilt, and low water crossings armored with onsite stone.
Outcome
Year-round access for delivery trucks and equipment, with no regrading needed since.

What changed for our clients

The outcome our clients got, not the compliment.

  • Access restored year-round

A half mile drive in Spicewood used to rut out every spring. It now takes our client's delivery trucks in February.

    Property owner · Spicewood, TX

  • Broke ground three weeks early

Quoting the clearing, grading, and pad prep as one scope left no gap between contractors on a West Austin build.

“Clear site, no surprises, and they communicate every step.”

    General contractor · Austin, TX

  • Drainage corrected on a slope that flooded

We redirected the runoff and armored the bank with rock pulled from the same excavation. Two wet seasons on, nothing has moved.

“We'd been re-seeding that slope every year. Not anymore.”

    Property owner · Leander, TX

  • Eleven fewer haul-off loads

We kept rock and timber on a Lago Vista lot for the approach and erosion control, so the client didn't pay to truck it away.

  • Safer property line

We pulled dense juniper and deadfall back from the house and shop to open up defensible space.

  • Septic field passed first inspection

We cleared and graded the area to the county's spec. No rework, no second visit.
